Blocs 3 – Development Continues

With the arrival of another new year, I decided to update my personal websites using the latest version of the Blocs 3 app from Cazoobi Limited. This will likely take a few months to accomplish but should provide an opportuity to evaluate the latest changes to this visual web deign tool and allow SJAUG members to follow site changes in a timely manner if so inclined. This topic was suggested by comments indicating several group members have yet to find a satisfactory replacement for the Softpress Freeway web design software which is no longer supported.

Blocs is a fast and powerful web design tool that requires almost no knowledge of either computers or web design to operate. Using it, the average user can quickly and easily generate gorgeous webpages that are both distinctive and modern—all without writing a single line of code. If interested in learning more about this product, read the iMore website review and/or visit the Blocs website using the link buttons below. You can also visit some of my other websites to see just some of its functionality. Unfortunately, I'm still a novice and using the most elemental—i.e., least advanced—features. Hopefully, as I learn more about its use, you will seer more and more of its capabilities.

iStream Website Partially Updated

Spent most of February working on the iStream website. Thus far I've managed to post 32 chaptered movie serials and 40 Charlie Chan films from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. This website currently demonstrates one way of using reference movies for the remote “fast start” playback of files too large to be emailed or embedded in my webpages directly using the Blocs 3 Asset Manager. You can sample the media by selecting the iStream link below in the footer. As the year progresses, I plan to further update this site using a different method of HTML5 Video tag URL reference use which does not rely on intermediate Reference Movie Fiiles which are becomming harder and harder to generate with the demise of QuickTime 7 Pro and the MakeRefMovie app. If you are interested in learning more about reference movies and resource links, check out the associated article linked below.
